A chalet at the Heezerenbosch was completely destroyed by fire on Saturday afternoon. The resident of the house inhaled smoke and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The fire broke out around ten to three.
The fire was difficult to extinguish, according to the fire department, as the house is located in the middle of the woods. Two fire trucks and two water trucks came to the fire. The fire brigade was able to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent nature reserve.
A few tens of meters behind the burning house is a dog kennel. The dogs present were checked by the Animal Ambulance, but no animal had inhaled smoke.
The cause of the fire is unknown. According to the fire brigade, the chalet can be considered lost.
