After the fatal attack on a woman in a Berlin high-rise building, the suspect (34) was initially housed in a clinic.
The Tiergarten District Court ordered the accused to be temporarily placed in a psychiatric hospital, the public prosecutor tweeted on Saturday afternoon.
The spokesman for the public prosecutor said the investigation was being carried out into attempted manslaughter in conjunction with dangerous bodily harm, completed manslaughter and violations of the weapons law.
You have reasons to believe that the suspect was in a condition that does not allow criminal responsibility. A placement order had been issued and implemented. The man is to be evaluated by a psychiatrist.

Early on Friday morning at 2:20 a.m., the deafening noise of a chainsaw suddenly rumbled through the ten-story prefab building in Lichtenberg, then residents heard screams and it smelled of petrol. Alarmed police officers rush to the fourth floor and put out a fire.
Just minutes earlier, the man is said to have killed his neighbor Diana G. (52) with a chainsaw and seriously injured her husband (52), a federal police officer.
The suspect is arrested. The federal police officer came to a hospital, where he underwent surgery for several hours.
