Cerebellum Centrale in Emmen shows how your brain works: ‘In Jip and Janneke explanation’

Are you aware of your own breathing? Or the weight of your tongue in your mouth? Our brain makes hundreds of choices for us every day, often without us even thinking about it. There is a pop-up experience in the Rensentheater in the old zoo until Saturday.

The initiator of this Cerebellum Centrale is brain coach Marijke Maatkamp. “In my daily life, in my coaching practice or during lectures, I encounter more and more people who suffer from stress. Both in work and in private life.”

“We are always on and sometimes have a shortage of focus and energy. Our brain cannot always handle that. It does not develop so quickly with everything that comes our way these days,” says the brain coach. “That’s why sometimes we have less focus and we are tired.”

Four different experiments make people aware of the subconscious of the brain, says Maatkamp. This involves moving, dipping in a cold bath and drawing in mirror image. And for those who wish, you can attend a lecture in the afternoon.

“I want people to leave here with the thought that they understand their brain a little more. And understand how and why they do certain things. And that your brain is very powerful, in your subconscious,” Maatkamp concludes.
