Cercle trainer Miron Muslic: ‘We will have no mercy on Zulte Waregem’
He is right, because a lot is at stake in Zulte Waregem-Cercle Brugge. Cercle can still get into the Europe play-offs, Zulte Waregem threatens to drop out of the first division after 18 years. A disaster scenario, but that does not make the bill green-black.
Miron Muslic, coach Cercle Brugge: “We will not have mercy on Zulte Waregem. No, it’s not about pity. It’s about Cercle, and success for Cercle. We need the three points to reach our goal, and that is the top eight.”
The winner takes it all, the loser’s standing small. Curious who Abba will sing for on Sunday evening. “That’s the drama of the game, but also the beauty. There has to be a winner. It can be very dramatic in the end, but we have to be prepared, stay structured and organized, and play with our typical intensity.”
Positive vibe
Since Music took the helm, and that intensity dragged into the team, Cercle has been in a positive vibe. The trainer doesn’t have to change his approach, even if this game is perhaps the most important of the season. “We don’t believe in hocus pocus, miracles, or motivational speeches. We believe in structure, in organization, with the highest possible intensity, so typical for Cercle, and that’s how we want to finish it.”
Cercle is wary of Zulte Waregem, and will not make the same mistakes as Eupen last week. There is no thought of any disappointment.
