The Cologne Centurions have made a successful start to the new European League of Football (ELF) season.
In the opening game, Cologne won the South Conference duel with the Istanbul Rams in front of their home crowd with 40:38 (20:12). The Centurions had failed in the semi-finals of the premiere season at the eventual winner Frankfurt Galaxy, for Istanbul it was the first game in the still young league.
In the second season, twelve franchises compete for the ELF title. In addition to the Rams, there are four new teams with the Vienna Vikings, Raiders Tirol and Rhein Fire from Düsseldorf. In 2023 teams from Italy, Switzerland and Hungary will also be added.
