About two hundred households in Central Drenthe that depend on the food bank or receive help from the Humanitas Foundation will receive a gift voucher of 25 euros in December.
This was decided by the city council on Thursday. All council factions came together with a motion to ensure that the two hundred families, who are struggling to make ends meet, receive a bonus in December.
The energy crisis and high inflation are the reason for all political parties to give a little extra support to families who are already struggling, explained Charles de Haas (Gemeentebelangen Smilde Beilen Westerbork) on behalf of the entire council. A gift voucher of 25 euros is therefore added to all December packages.
