Central defender Rick van Drongelen is moving from Bundesliga club Union Berlin to Turkish Süper Lig promoted Samsunspor.
The 24-year-old was last loaned to Hansa Rostock, the second division would have liked to keep the Dutchman. According to a report in the Ostsee-Zeitung, the defender was too expensive for Hansa.
Van Drongelen, whose contract ran until 2025, has not played a single competitive game for Union since signing in the summer of 2021.
“Even if I wasn’t able to show myself as planned here at Union, I will have fond memories of the time and the people,” he said.
