Centraal Museum in Utrecht shows exhibition about digital fashion

An exhibition on digital fashion opens Saturday at the ‘Utrecht Lokaal’ exhibition space of the Centraal Museum in Utrecht, the Netherlands: ‘From Form to Polygon’ in collaboration with Utrecht fashion collective Studio PMS

The exhibition showcases the various possibilities of digital design and provides a behind-the-scenes look at the digital design process, the Centraal Museum said. In addition, the museum’s existing historical fashion collection will be brought to life with the help of digital techniques. On display are works by Dutch digital fashion collective The Fabrikant and Dutch designer Tess van Zalinge, among others.

“The uniqueness of this exhibition is that the physical and digital worlds not only come together, but also enhance each other. (…) Adorable!” said Ninke Bloemberg, curator of fashion at the Centraal Museum.

The fashion collective Studio PMS is committed to a more sustainable and less hierarchical fashion industry. They believe that digital fashion offers great potential for this: “Designing virtual fashion is accessible and less harmful to the environment. Also, since the pandemic, we have been forced to adapt to virtual fashion weeks and online fittings.”
