Table leadership extended
Celtic have their Scottish Premiership title firmly in their sights after beating city rivals Rangers in the ‘Old Firm’ derby. The team coached by Ange Postecoglou won 2-1 (2-1) away on Sunday and is six points ahead of defending champions Rangers at the top of the table with six games to go.
Juventus loanee Aaron Ramsey put the hosts ahead at Ibrox after just three minutes. But Tom Rogic (7th) and Cameron Carter-Vickers (43rd) turned the game around before the break. Celtic remained unbeaten in their 26th league game in a row and are aiming for a triple win from the championship and the two cup competitions.

The game was overshadowed by several incidents. After the final whistle, Celtic said a member of the coaching staff had been hit by a glass bottle towards the end of the first half and required stitches for a head wound. The bottle had been thrown from the audience.
The start of the second half was delayed because broken glass had to be removed from the penalty area by Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart. A bottle was reportedly thrown from the audience and smashed. Folders removed the fragments, the game could be continued after a delay. Celtic manager Postecoglou condemned the incidents. “Two teams play against each other, first and second place. You don’t need some idiots ruining this,” he said.
