Celine Dion: Serious nervous disease! Germany tour postponed

Due to a nervous disorder that causes the musician to suffer from severe cramps, Celine Dion partially canceled her tour of Europe for the coming year on Thursday (December 8th) and postponed it to 2024. At the beginning of the year she had already canceled her shows for North America and the performances in Las Vegas in 2021 for health reasons, which can be traced back to the illness in retrospect.

Celine Dion despite diagnosis: “All I can do is sing. This is (…) what I love most”

The singer posted a video via Instagram explaining that she has been diagnosed with stiff person syndrome, which she says affects “every aspect of everyday life.” “I’ve struggled with health issues for a long time and it’s been really difficult for me to face those challenges and talk about everything I’ve been through.” She continued, “We’re still in the process of doing something about this rare disease to learn, but we currently know that this is the cause of the cramps I was having.”

Celine Dion explained that the disease affects her ability to sing and perform, as well as her ability to carry out everyday activities: “(…) Sometimes they cause [die Krämpfe] Difficulty walking or not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to.”

Still, she assured her fans that she has a “great medical team” who are working hard to help her get well. At the end of the video, the musician expressed her gratitude to the fans, explaining that all she can do is sing and that’s what she “loves the most”.
