Who is the most fashionable of them all? It’s not easy staying stylish under constant media scrutiny, but a few female celebrities managed to keep interest in their style year-round. And the competition is fierce, as the top spots are only 100 searches apart.
How were the top fashion icons of 2022 chosen? A study conducted by frugal living experts CommonCentsMom.com analyzed Google search data from 2022 in the US for various search terms related to fashion and style, including over 100 of the most fashionable female celebrities worldwide. The search terms were then combined to give each celebrity an overall score and crown the most fashionable women of 2022.
1) Zendaya
American actress and singer Zendaya made it to the top of the list, with terms associated with Zendaya’s fashion choices being searched an average of 21,760 times per month. When broken down, Americans search “Zendaya Red Carpet” an average of 6,900 times a month, more than any other celebrity, and search “Zendaya Dress” 4,300 times a month, according to the study.
2) Ariana Grande
“Just missed!” So can American singer-songwriter-actress Ariana Grande, who missed the top spot by just 150 monthly searches. She received an average of 21,610 searches per month for her fashion choices, including the term “Ariana Grande Outfits,” which was searched about 12,000 times per month.
3) Billie Eilish
American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish was a close second, also just 50 monthly searches behind number two. “The singer, known for her baggy clothing and individual style, received an average of 21,560 monthly searches for terms related to her style, including 8,800 monthly searches for the term ‘Billie Eilish Outfits,'” according to the analysis.
4) Kim Kardashian
American socialite Kim Kardashian was named the fourth most popular celebrity of 2022, with an average of 19,600 monthly searches for terms related to her style and fashion. The most popular search term “Kim Kardashian dress” was viewed an average of 5,500 times per month.
5) Lady Gaga
Known for her extravagant outfits, it’s no surprise that American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga made the top five. She received 18,600 monthly searches for her style, with the term “Lady Gaga Outfits” being searched 13,000 times per month and “Lady Gaga Fashion” being searched 2,200 times.
6) Olivia Rodrigo
The research found American singer-songwriter-actress Olivia Rodrigo to be the sixth most fashionable celebrity of the year. “The ‘Drivers License’ singer’s style is searched 17,760 times nationwide each month, with the search for ‘Olivia Rodrigo Outfits’ receiving 6,500 monthly global searches and the term ‘Olivia Rodrigo Dress’ receiving 5,300 searches per month,” the result read.
7) Kendall Jenner
Seventh place stayed in the family, the Kardashian and Jenner families, as Kendall Jenner is firmly in the top ten most fashionable women of 2022 with an average of 17,350 monthly searches for her style. The search term “Kendall Jenner Dress” ranked first with an average of 5,900 monthly searches.
8) Kate Middleton
With the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton in eighth place, the first non-American person to be elected was someone who is not from the entertainment industry. Known for her style, the lady delivered the most popular search term with “Kate Middleton Style” and 2,700 monthly Google searches. On average, 14,300 monthly searches were made about her fashion selection.
9) Princess Diana
The next place also went to a member of the British royal family, the late Princess Diana. “Despite her death in 1997, the late Princess of Wales still gets around 14,160 searches for her style a month in the US. Specifically, “Princess Diana Outfits” is googled 4,100 times each month, and “Princess Diana Fashion” receives 3,800 searches per month,” the study revealed.
10) Bella Hadid
American model Bella Hadid rounded out the top ten by receiving an average of 12,550 monthly searches for her style across America, specifically her street style, with the term “Bella Hadid Street Style” averaging 3,400 searches per month.

The top 20 included some timeless style icons such as British actress Audrey Hepburn at No. 11, followed by singer Rihanna, American rapper Doja Cat and American singers Lizzo and Britney Spears at Nos. 12, 13, 14 and 15 respectively .
American media personality Kylie Jenner, American model Hailey Bieber, former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, American actress Meghan Markle and American singer-songwriter Beyonce followed in further places.
