Catherine tells in the Story that her pension is not exactly a fortune. “I receive 700 euros in pension per month, while colleagues from that time receive 2,000 to 3,000 euros.”
Why doesn’t La Keyl get that amount? “I don’t get that amount because I was still married at that time. The law prescribes that as a married woman you are not eligible for a full pension. The fact that I have been divorced for years is no longer important.”

Catherine really doesn’t think that’s possible. “That’s really a shame. But I am not entitled to it, because the law of that time applies. With my state pension, I receive 2,000 euros net monthly. So for anyone who thinks that all those famous Dutch people earn so much money: that is not the case.”
