Cees Sterk new chairman of handball club Limburg Lions | 1Limburg

As of the 2022-2023 season, Cees Sterk is the new chairman of handball club Limburg Lions.

Sterk will succeed the current chairman Thieu Kikken. Kikken will train his successor until the end of the current season.

Zuyderland and Orbis
By bringing in Cees Sterk, the Sittard club is bringing in an experienced driver. Sterk has been a member of the Board of Directors of Zuyderland and of Orbis Medical and Care Center for many years. Sterk has no specific handball background.

Cooperation in the region
Limburg Lions thinks they have found the suitable person in Sterk who can lead the BENE-League Club through the next phase. In the coming period, the focus will mainly be on further intensifying cooperation in the region. In this way, the handball club wants to stimulate and intensify cooperation between the regional associations in the future.

Final-Four
Of course, the sporting objective remains that the Lions men’s team continues to participate in both the BENE-League and the national competitions. Lions is already assured of a spot in the Final-Four. On March 26 and 27, the four best teams of the Netherlands and Belgium will play for the title in the BENE-League in the Maaspoort in Den Bosch.

The current chairman of the board, Thieu Kikken, will remain associated with the club. He becomes a member of the Supervisory Board.
