Cyclist Cees Bol will replace Marijn van den Berg on Sunday in the road race at the European Championships in Drenthe. Initially, Ide Schelling was supposed to take over Van den Berg’s place, but he also appears not to be ready to start.
Marijn van den Berg has not returned completely fit from the Tour of Spain. Now that Ide Schelling cannot drive on Sunday, national coach Koos Moerenhout has opted for Cees Bol.
In addition to Bol, Olav Kooij, Nils Eekhoff, Sjoerd Bax, Bauke Mollema, Mike Teunissen, Elmar Reinders and Daan Hoole are participating on behalf of the Netherlands. The road race is 200 kilometers long and ends on the VAM mountain in Wijster.
