If it were up to Flemish MP Katrien Schryvers, all local authorities would open a star register, a register of stillborn children. The CD&V politician asks competent Minister of Internal Affairs Gwendolyn Rutten to encourage local authorities to do so. “The registration of a stillborn child in a star register does not generate any legal or civil consequences, but it can be very important in the processing process of the parents involved,” says Schryvers.
