At the CDA Noord-Holland they are astonished that their party member Jelle Beemsterboer has been nominated as deputy for the BBB. He was still on the board of the Schagen department, co-wrote the North Holland party program and was active during the election campaign. “It is unbelievable that he is now making this choice,” said CDA MPs Dennis Heijnen and Willemien Koning.
They care deeply, that much is clear. Beemsterboer was therefore a party celebrity in the province. Councilor and alderman in Schagen for many years, but also chairman of the CDA North Holland. And less than two years ago he wanted to enter the House of Representatives for the CDA. He launched a massive campaign as a representative of North Holland North. Posters, banners and even banners behind airplanes were hung throughout the region in an attempt to win votes.

The number 28 on the list of candidates ultimately failed to secure a seat in the House of Representatives. He finished his job as alderman, but decided not to participate in last year’s municipal elections.
Commitment to more housing
Beemsterboer became known in the region mainly because he devoted himself to housing in North Holland North. And he also regularly pointed the finger of blame at the province, which, according to him, offered too little space for the municipality to build outside the urban area.

‘Is he of all people going to disappoint aldermen?’
Although the CDA does not yet know the content of the agreement, his former party members find it all the more incomprehensible that he is going to work on behalf of BBB. “The BBB does not want to build on the edges of the villages at all. “Is Jelle Beemsterboer now of all people going to disappoint all aldermen who hoped to finally be able to do something for the housing shortage in their municipality?” Heijnen wonders in disbelief.
Koning adds: “One thing is clear to us, Beemsterboer will soon not be on the board on behalf of the CDA or as an advocate of CDA positions. Regardless of what he himself says about it.”
The new council has a total of four deputies, sources confirm to NH. Two less than the current provincial government. Besides the surprising Jelle Beemsterboer, they are well-known names. Esther Rommel (VVD), Rosan Kocken (GroenLinks) and Jeroen Olthof (PvdA) were also deputies in the previous council.
Both BBB party chairman Ingrid de Sain and Jelle Beemsterboer do not want to say anything substantive about the reaction from the CDA party. Because it has been agreed with all coalition parties not to say anything about it until the presentation of the coalition agreement tomorrow.
