The CDA in Meierijstad remains the largest after the municipal elections. But the party has to deal with a major blow, it suffers a loss of more than seven percent and now comes out at 17.8 percent.
The local party HERE follows closely with 14.2 percent. Newcomer Forum for Democracy comes out of nowhere to 2.9 percent and thus comes with one seat on the council.
Furthermore, the VVD, the SP, Gembel, PvdAGL and D66 have won.
The turnout in Meierijstad was higher than in the last elections. It went from 41.1 percent to 48.1 percent now. That is remarkable, because there was no vote four years ago, but six years ago in 2016. There were then redivision elections. Usually, more people than go to the polls.
