On October 21, 2002, Bushido and Fler released their album CARLO COKXXX NUTTEN (CCN). Under the pseudonyms Sonny Black (Bushido) and Frank White (Fler), the two rapped about drug trafficking, prostitutes and gun violence. The description of difficult living conditions in Berlin’s outskirts was and is the theme of the album.
Although the album didn’t make it into the charts, it is considered one of the most important albums in German gangsta rap history. The label Aggro Berlin was founded in 2001 and gained a lot of attention through CCN. Until it closed in 2009, it was considered one of the most important labels in German hip hop. The success of CCN was also seminal for the two artists behind the album. Bushido was already under contract with Aggro Berlin, but had only released two demo tapes up to that point. For Fler, the joint album was the first professional release. Both rappers are still relevant 20 years later and have started their own labels.
successor
Due to disputes, CARLO COKXXX NUTTEN II was released in 2005 not with Fler but Saad. However, Bushido and Fler settled their dispute and CARLO COKXXX NUTTEN 2 was released in 2009 with the original cast. For the third part of CCN 3, however, it was only Bushido, since another argument had broken out. In 2019, CCN 4 by Bushido and Animus was released.
chart success
CARLO COKXXX NUTTEN’s successors, CCN II and CCN 2, reached number 3 in the German charts. Bushido’s solo album CCN 3 even reached number 1 and gold status in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The latest part of the CARLO COKXXX NUTTEN series CCN 4 also made it to number 1 in Germany and Switzerland (Austria in 11th place). However, the album failed to achieve gold status.
