Having finished the Spor Toto 1st League in the 2nd place, the Black Sea team Çaykur Rizespor qualified to be promoted to the Super League. At the end of the season, the Green-Blues lifted the championship trophy with a ceremony held at the Rize Çaykur Didi Stadium. The trophy ceremony, which started with concerts, was attended by fans, while the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President Mehmet Büyükekşi, Former Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, Çaykur Rizespor President İbrahim Turgut, Çaykur Rizespor technical staff, Coach Bülent Korkmaz and football players attended.
Speaking at the cup ceremony, Çaykur Rizespor President İbrahim Turgut said, “I would like to thank our fans, technical team and football players with whom we have walked together from the beginning of the season without saying rain or mud. We put up a tough fight. It has been our indispensable motto to act honest, principled and sportsmanlike while we are fighting this. “We did not break up, we will never break up. Our greatest value is our fans and the people of Rize. We continue to work without forgetting for a while that the task taken at Rizespor is a great responsibility. We are in a great honor and pride to serve Rizespor.”
The trophy was awarded to team captains Alper Potuk and Emir Han Topçu to be lifted. After the trophy was lifted, Çaykur Rizespor players and board members toured the stadium with the trophy and brought the trophy together with the fans.
