Cautious anticipation in Zandvoort: excitement reigns especially among F1 spotters

There was excitement today in Zandvoort, especially among young spotters of F1 drivers at the entrance to the circuit. Expensive black limousines trickled in there every so often. One of the guys thought he saw Valtteri Bottas, another thought he caught a look from Sergio Perez and a third thought he recognized them both. But none of the three were sure, “That’s what you get with those cars with blinded windows these days,” says one of them.

Of all the drivers, they would have preferred to spot Max Verstappen. Quite possibly he was in one of those cars that just drove in. But yes, those reflective windows, eh. The young fans should console themselves with the thought that they will see Verstappen extensively in the coming days. If not in real life, then it is on TV.

Haltestraat also needs to warm up. – NH News

Max has won twice before at the Zandvoort Circuit. It is expected that he will succeed for the third consecutive time, especially if it rains on Sunday. Then he has an advantage as a recognized rain driver.

Anticipation

It is possible that Thursday’s unpredictable weather was the reason that the fans did not surrender en masse to the anticipation. It was cozy, but not exuberant in the Haltestraat. Friday is expected to be a madhouse. A man on the terrace says: “Not everyone is there yet. We have to wait for tomorrow when the race is over. Then the city will fill up and it will go wild.”
