Catherine Keyl is really so done with Pieter Omtzigt. She thinks the way he blew up the formation is a disgrace. “That man really has no manners.”

Catherine Keyl cannot fathom how Pieter Omtzigt currently works in The Hague. He informed his formation partners via Humberto Tan’s talk show that he was ceasing discussions. Is this the man who was so incredibly praised before the elections? What a disappointment, says Catherine Keyl.

Little tired

Catherine thinks that such an Omtzigt could never have become prime minister. “I had to think, when I read what was going on: imagine, eh, that he had become Prime Minister and he had had to negotiate with Putin… Would he also have said: ‘Well, sorry, I have to just going to Enschede, because I’m a bit tired’?”

Her host in Business ClassHarry Mens also has no confidence in Omtzigt. “I don’t think that man is that strong mentally. That has proven to be the case.”

Out of circulation for a while

The whole Omtzigt radiates fatigue, Harry thinks. “He has been out of action for a long time. He had a burnout. If you are sensitive to that and you have to hold a top position; That doesn’t seem that easy to me.”

Catherine agrees. “But what I find much worse, and what I didn’t expect at all, is that he has no manners at all. That he informs the informer with a text message that he is no longer coming…

scandalous

Catherine thinks it’s downright scandalous. “Well, I’m sorry, then you can just go to that man and say: ‘Hey, listen to it, I don’t like it, I’m leaving.’ No, he’s going to sit with Humberto! Very weird.”

What does Harry think should be done? “I think new elections are the best. Then Wilders will get 50 seats and the VVD 15 and then we will pick up a few more along the way and then we will govern.”
