Catherine Keyl stands upright in front of camera after a long illness, but does not fall over

Catherine Keyl can stand and walk again after her long illness. In fact, she happily stood in front of the Shownieuws camera last night. And she still stood up straight.

Catherine Keyl is doing well again. The beloved 77-year-old television dinosaur got the shock of her life in the fall when she suddenly could no longer stand upright and walk. That woman in bed all day. And then she goes to the hospital for help, they give her some kind of injection and it turns out she was misdiagnosed.

‘I couldn’t do anything anymore’

After months of horror, Catherine is now doing better again. She was even present at the World Christmas Circus in the Carré theater yesterday. She also wore a very funny outfit, completely in a circus atmosphere.

How is the presenter doing now? “I still feel it and I can’t stand for very long and all that, but it’s always such a party here. I never thought I would be able to do that, to be honest. I have been so desperate; I couldn’t do anything anymore.”

‘Don’t despair!’

During her illness, Catherine feared that the next stop would be her gravestone. “I thought, well, this is never going to be okay again, and so it turned out okay in the end. So for everyone who despairs: don’t despair too quickly!”

Shownieuws star Tooske Ragas finds these inspiring words. “I think that’s a nice Christmas idea.”

Colleague Bart Ettekoven mainly shows compassion: “A hernia is horrible.”
