Catherine Keyl is not impressed by Beau van Erven Dorens’ talk show. She thinks the presenter is a top talent, but his program is a bit interchangeable. “It all looks the same.”
Today Inside is by far the most watched talk show in the country. It is also the only distinctive program in this genre, according to critics. The other talk shows are very similar according to them and Catherine Keyl agrees. In the VARA guide, for example, she refers to the program of Beau van Erven Dorens.
Catherine from criticism
Beau is a great talent, but according to Catherine he does not come into his own in his talk show. “Beau is very talented and he can deal with people well, but the editors of all those shows show too little creativity and are afraid to miss a topic. Those shows all look alike,” she says.
It is remarkable that Catherine ran away with Johnny de Mol and his talk show HLF8. That program is by far the most interchangeable of all talk shows. “I wish someone who starts in the difficult profession of talk show success, so if I can give some tips that help him, I will do that.”
Now Johnny is off the tube. “It’s a shame he stopped prematurely due to an anonymous charge.”
Beau peaks
Fortunately for Beau van Erven Dorens, there is also good news: he opened the week yesterday with 785 thousand viewers (22% market share) on RTL 4, which is much higher than usual. Cause? Lead-in Buy Without Watching was the prime time winner with 1.3 million viewers (26%).
Still, Beau was not the most watched talk show of the evening; that was again Today Inside with 883 thousand viewers (19%) on SBS 6. Khalid & Sophie scored 677 thousand viewers, Op1 had 671 thousand, Time for MAX 427 thousand and HLF8 only 348 thousand.

Where Radar always takes gold on Mondays at half past eight, Kassa – which nowadays alternates with Radar – has to settle for silver: 906 thousand people (18%) watched it yesterday, considerably less than its direct competitor. SBS 6’s Family Gillis takes bronze at half past eight with 736 thousand viewers (15%).
The most viewed titles at half past nine were, in addition to the evening-long Buying Without Watching and Today Inside, the NPO 2 news section Nieuwsuur (583 thousand and 12%) and the NPO 1 program Better! (547 thousand and 11%).
Viewing figures
Programs that also did not make the top 15 include Shownieuws (524 thousand), BinnensteBuiten (500 thousand) and Lang Leve De Liefde (444 thousand).
