Catering business on the seawall of Ostend closed with immediate effect
A catering business on the seawall of Ostend has to close with immediate effect after an inspection by the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FAVV).
The FASFC carried out a targeted action against a catering business on the Albert I-promenade, between the IJzerstraat and Kemmelbergstraat. “After a check, the immediate closure was imposed following violations of general hygiene and due to poor management,” says Liesbeth Van de Voorde of the FASFC. The case remains closed until it can meet the predefined conditions and after a new check by the FASFC with a favorable result. In the meantime, the Ostend police will monitor the closure.
“Ostend is a city that puts relaxation and enjoyment first. When violations are identified that endanger the safety and health of residents and tourists, action must be taken. I am therefore pleased that action is being taken against those who do not follow the rules closely,” underlines Mayor Bart Tommelein.
