AND the 2023/2024 TV season has officially started. Among the most talked about debuts there is undoubtedly that of The right timenew early afternoon program on Rai Uno, which sees the return of Caterina Balivo in that time slot. The program, broadcast every day from Monday to Friday from 2pm to 4pm, did not start with a bang, between the emotion of the presenter and some parts that did not convince many web users.

As soon as the live broadcast started, Caterina Balivo appeared very excited. In the first episode of Monday, September 11th, the presenter wanted to explain how this program was born and what it intends to tell. «As they say… “Some loves don’t end, they go around immensely and then come back”. So I came back. Off we go. But first I want to tell you something: when they proposed this project to me, the idea that was there, I took my time. And in the end I accepted. But do you know why? I understand that this program wants to tell you about all the times that life has surprised you. All the times it amazed you. All the times you thought it was over. But no…».
And he continued: «In every life, even in the most complicated ones, sometimes an unexpected opportunity arrives. Something that makes you better, something that makes you and those around you feel better. Sometimes those opportunities aren’t immediately understood. Here because the right opportunity must be studied, it must be respected, it must be understood. We will do our best to tell you this, to understand it, to make it reach you too. I don’t know if we will succeed but we will give it our all».

That phrase about the work group that many viewers didn’t like
In this incipit full of promises and ideals, then, Caterina Balivo (who had already been in this time slot for two seasons until 2020 with Come to me) slipped in too a sentence about the program team. “With a fantastic work group that I still don’t love, they will not love me or love me. I don’t know how it will go. I just know that we want this. That’s why we call those moments, those instants, those instants The right time“, he said.
Many did not appreciate the need to declare, already in the first seconds of the program, the fact that a strong bond has not yet been created between the presenter and her team. But at the same time, many moments of the program did nothing but confirm this mismatch.
Caterina Balivo: The right time started with a 13.1% share
In fact, as soon as the presentation of the program was finished, a talk on the eightieth Venice Film Festival immediately began, with studio guests Enzo Miccio, Elisa D’Ospina, Tiziana Rocca and Manuela Ravasio. A block that was not convincing because it was long and cumbersome, despite being particularly light.
Then, they took turns an intimate interview, a telephone game thanks to which viewers can win €500 and more a moment that seems taken from Italia’s got talent, with soap bubbles and laughter. All with a duo of studio musicians who, with their live interludes, recall Remigi and Mezzancella from Today is another dayProgram of Serena Bortone which was replaced by The right time.
Speaking of ratings. Comparing the first episode of this new Balivo program with last year’s Today is another day (it was September 5, 2022) emerges a weaker start for The right timewhich reached 11.7% share in the first part and 13.1% in the second. The premiere of Bortone’s program (which had managed to retain its audience), in fact, had reached 13.7% with 1,348,000 spectators and had an annual average of 16%. After these first two episodes which didn’t leave their mark The right time will have to find a way to win over viewers.
