Catchy tribute to Miguel Van Damme

Ten minutes before the start of the match, youth players from Cercle Brugge formed the number 16 in the center circle. Meanwhile, a film was shown on the big screens with images of Miguel’s life.

The green-black players laid down a large canvas with Van Damme’s photo and formed a circle around it. The players and staff of the visiting team, AA Gent, were also part of it. All players also wore a shirt with Van Damme’s number on it. His number 16.

Van Damme’s widow, Kyana Dobbelaere, also took part in the circle. Cercle midfielder Charles Vanhoutte even spoke up. He shouted “For Miguel”, after which he gave Van Damme’s girlfriend a warm hug.
