He ‘president’ Pere Aragones and the Minister of Education Anna Simó have visited this Thursday the Ramon Llull School in Rubíone of the 24 in which this summer the Government has programmed asbestos removal work. In this historic center -in which it is enough to spend a few minutes to confirm that it is not air-conditioned-, the action focuses on the change of a huge asbestos roof of 1,343 meters four, still over the heads of students in 2023. These works fall within the 442 for improvement of educational centers planned for these months of empty classrooms, with a Total investment of 50.9 million.
The 24 actions to remove asbestos in educational centers planned for this 2023 represent an investment of 6.2 million. 21 of them are financed with FEDER-REACT funds (5.8 million) and three with the Department’s own funds (387,000 euros). This set of works is a step forward in the process of withdrawing this carcinogenic material in Catalan educational centers, but the way to go is still long.
