A cat sounded the alarm at master and mistress when it broke into a mobile home near Brandenburg an der Havel.
One perpetrator or several perpetrators entered the vehicle on Saturday morning when the family was sleeping in a parking lot on the A2 motorway, the police reported on Sunday.
Cash and a camera were stolen. According to the officials, the cat panicked and woke the family, who immediately called the police.
According to a spokesman, the search for the perpetrator or perpetrators was initially unsuccessful.
