The new reality series Kasteelvrouwe Emmy, in which a somewhat hysterical lady is renovating a castle in France, currently attracts more viewers than the Meilandjes did until recently.
Chateau Meiland originated from Ik Departure and the new NPO 1 series Kasteelvrouwe Emmy also focuses on a former Ik Departure couple. We follow the somewhat hysterical Emmy who is almost single-handedly renovating the castle of her dreams. And the viewing figures? Those are perfectly fine.
Erica not jealous
Where the Meilandjes earlier this spring managed to captivate an average of 1 million viewers with Chateau Bijstand, Kasteelvrouwe Emmy started last week with 1.2 million viewers. And also last night, Emmy was the winner in prime time with more than 1.1 million viewers (25% market share).
Is Erica Meiland jealous? No, says Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden. He called Erica. “Erica also saw the first episode and was very enthusiastic. She also does not see her as competition and just wishes her every success with her series.”
‘Girls in danger’
The Meilandjes have to be a little careful, Jordi thinks. “I do think that the Meilandjes should be careful, because an overkill is developing. This is refreshing, this starts all over again.”
He continues at Telegraph TV: “If I put it to myself: I liked the Meilandjes best in the beginning, when that castle was really a mess in France. We will now start again with Emmy. We start from scratch.”
