“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will be remembered by many fans of the Star Wars series, if only because it marks the last time Carrie Fisher is seen.
The actress passed away in December 2016 after suffering a cardiac arrest while traveling by air. At the time, work on the eighth “Star Wars” episode was not yet fully completed.
As Todd Fisher, the Princess Leia actress’ brother, recently confirmed to TMZ, the Star Wars icon’s remaining family was deeply touched by how sensitive the producers had been towards the actress after her death.
Accordingly, they already saw an early version of the film during Fisher’s lifetime, in which General Leia can be seen in a situation that was traumatic for her. It was not staged nearly as confidently in the original version.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Tribute to Carrie Fisher
The Fishers family also reportedly enjoyed the tribute to Carrie at the end of the film to the fullest. They hoped that one way or another, Leia would live on in the world of Star Wars. Apparently they wouldn’t mind a CGI version of the princess either…
