Caroline van der Plas is under heavy fire on Yvonne Coldeweijer’s juice channel. She states that the politician has behaved ‘poorly’ towards the father of her children.
There seems to be a lot dirt to find out about Caroline van der Plas’ past. The men of Today Inside made a suggestion yesterday: according to Özcan Akyol, a biography is coming in which a very ugly story is told about the politician. It is about her first husband and the father of her children, who drove her completely to despair.
One hundred kilometers
Yvonne Coldeweijer now covers this with quite detailed background information. She writes on her juicechannel that Özcan’s claim that the man wanted to jump off the bridge because he could no longer see his children is incorrect. “The story is a little different. It’s intense and I’m going to tell you.”
Coincidentally, Yvonne says she has been working on this for a while. The story in a nutshell? According to Yvonne, Caroline and the man divorced when their eldest son was 8 years old. A 50/50 division of parenting would then have been agreed upon. “Three months later, however, Caroline decided to move 100 kilometers away.”
Very deep valley
Without discussing this, according to Yvonne. The children barely got to see their father. “She then went to court and enforced a new arrangement. Shockingly, the judge agreed and he was only allowed to see his sons six days a month. The father has gone through a deep valley because of this.”
Understandable, says Yvonne. “He could no longer be part of the upbringing and his children were suddenly just houseguests. Caroline has been knowingly keeping her two sons away from their father for years. This man moved heaven and earth to see his children.”
Waalbrug
The man indeed climbed the Nijmegen Waal Bridge in 2006, according to Yvonne, but that was to take action. “After that things went from bad to worse! Caroline suddenly stopped seeing his sons at all. He sometimes drove a hundred kilometers to Deventer for nothing, only to be unable to get the children along.”
According to Yvonne, Caroline has now been keeping her sons away from this wonderful man for almost 20 years. “There is no further indication that abuse or danger is involved here, so why Caroline has made this decision is not yet based on anything other than her own ego.”
What does Caroline say?
Caroline writes in her book that ‘a long time after the divorce she decided not to respond to messages from the father of my children’. “By reacting I perpetuated something that was unhealthy and brought too much negativity. The moment I was able to turn that switch, a feeling of freedom immediately arose, which really allowed me to move on.”
Not a good reason, Yvonne thinks. She points out that the man has even ended up in debt. “Personally, I am curious to know what Caroline has to say about this, because I think that ‘negativity’ and ‘unhealthy’ is a poor basis for keeping your sons away from their father for almost 20 years.”
