Caroline van der Plas sees Beau van Erven Dorens’ talk show as her favorite talk show. So she prefers to sit at the table there than at Jinek or Op1. “He is not such a cold, tight presenter.”
She is the most popular female politician of the moment: Caroline van der Plas. The BBB frontwoman is a welcome guest on television talk shows and appears there regularly. “I join talk shows because I want to talk about my views,” she explains in Beau Monde.
Preferably with Beau
Although it is part of the job, Caroline secretly finds those TV appearances entertaining. “It’s something that comes with it, but I also just like it. You meet people you would otherwise never speak to, some of whom you keep in touch with.”
Who is her favorite talk show host? “I always enjoy sitting at the table with Beau van Erven Dorens. He is not such a cold, tight presenter who only wants to be critical and does not give people the opportunity to tell their story. He interviews very nice and is very empathetic.”
With Henny at Jinek
Nevertheless, Caroline sometimes sits at the table with Eva Jinek. Her favorite broadcast with her was the one with Henny Huisman. “In my twenties, Henny Huisman was an icon on television. Everyone looked at him, including me. Crying every time, when he surprised someone again in the Surprise Show. I was really a sucker for what he did on his programs.”
She continues: “When I heard a while ago that I would be sitting at the table with him at Jinek that evening, I really liked that. I thought: now I meet a big boy from the television world. He has been such a greatness, what would such a man be like in real life? He turned out to be very open, friendly and fun, but I really didn’t expect anything else.”
