Caroline Tensen is poked hard with Angela de Jong’s pen. The AD diva is very critical of her as presenter of the ‘new’ living show Buy or Slopen. “Unfortunately!”
It has already been explained in detail on the analysis channel of TV professor Tina Nijkamp: Caroline Tensen’s new program is far from original. Buying or Demolition, a production of Martijn Krabbé’s TV company, is, according to her, very similar to the competitor’s program Renovation or Relocation. And Angela de Jong has also noticed that.
Angela critical
Angela thinks the program is a pretty poor copy of residential titles that are already available, as she shows in her column in the A.D. “It is a cast-off from Net5 (…) that RTL considered good enough for one of its stars who, apart from a few recording days for Een tegen 100, otherwise sits at home unemployed: Caroline Tensen.”
Prominent roles in the program, which started quite well last night on RTL 4, are played by real estate agent Alex from Kopen Zonder Kijken and architect Britta from De Perfecte Verbouwing. “And Caroline… well, it wasn’t really clear to me yet what her added value is.”
Mixed bag
You want someone like Caroline to have a program ‘in which she can express her qualities as the grande dame of emo TV’, Angela writes. “But no, it is a cheap mishmash of just about all existing housing programs.”
According to Angela, Buy or Demolish is primarily a sponsorship vehicle. A vehicle in which Caroline cannot express much of herself, she believes. Even at the final denouement. “Caroline could finally have made a difference here and said a few warm, nice or funny words.”
Small talk
However, Caroline indicated during the ending that she did not want to waste time on ‘chit chat’. “And I? I missed Martijn Krabbé. And even Kees Tol.”
So the presenters of Uitstel van Executie and vtwonen. Wow, that’s a mean rant from Angela. That will be another two hours of calling Leco tonight…
