Caroline Tensen always travels with scales: ‘Is not obsessive’

What does Caroline Tensen always take with her when she travels? Hair dye? A wig for one bad hair day? Or does she just cram all that Leco van Zadelhoff into her trolley? No. “My scales. Always.”

If anyone in Hilversum is obsessed with her appearance, it’s Caroline Tensen. That woman once made all of India moan because her hair wasn’t right. She then called the Leco Emergency Center to find a suitable hairdresser. All very strange. Was this all? No.

Don’t wear pants

Caroline also refuses to check in when there are no scales in her suitcase. She also wants to know exactly how many kilograms she weighs when she travels. If she weighs a little too much after the breakfast buffet, she will keep her mouth shut for the rest of the day.

She even bought a special travel scale for it, the presenter admits Nouveau. “Before there were those, I always put jeans without stretch in my suitcase. Once, after a month in France in shawls, bikinis and especially with a lot of good food, I couldn’t put my pants on.”

Obsessive Caroline

Pants that are a bit tighter after the holidays are recognizable for many people, but for Caroline it is a catastrophe. “From that moment on, I also keep an eye on my travels to make sure I don’t gain too much weight.”

But if that’s so important to you, why don’t you brag a little less often at the buffet? Do you really have to carry a whole scale in that suitcase? “It sounds obsessive, but I hate being on the phone. I never want that again.”

A pizza

So what does it look like when Caroline is on vacation with her family? “If we are gone for seventeen days, I will allow myself pizza once, cheese fondue once and käsespätzle once, a pan full of mountain cheese and dough, delicious.”

The message is clear: Caroline doesn’t want to be fat. She points out that her husband is also slim. “A fit couple, no big belly, nothing. Tasty.”
