A few years ago the legendary television host David Letterman He created a cycle of interviews through which figures as relevant as Barack Obama passed. The show was called “They Need No Introduction,” and the title applies perfectly to Carolina Ardohain. pampita Nor does it require those ornate biographies that are usually read on Linkedin. Unlike some unknown influencers who strive to sell themselves on the networks, we all know who he is.
While presenting the second season of his reality show “Being Pampita” (Paramount +), promises fun, excitement and asks us to prepare the tissues for the surprising final episodes. Veteran journalists, accustomed to a thousand interviews, are silent while she promotes the new chapters and look at her dumbfounded.
Why do we love Pampita so much? Perhaps because we have known her forever, we accompanied her when she became queen of the catwalk in times when mannequins were 1.80 meters tall and she established a new paradigm, that of the magnetic girl who could break down moth-eaten taboos. We follow her achievements, her loves, her disappointments and we also cry when she died her white daughter.
But pampita got up. She survived family tragedies, bitter divorces and loves that could not be. She also shared the happiness of her wedding with the legislator and businessman Roberto Garcia Moritan, put together a blended family and together they welcomed Ana, the most anticipated baby in the country. Her present finds her driving that unthinkable hit called “The Hotel of the Famous”, but if she is in front, the public always accompanies.
We need Pampita to be happy because her story of overcoming identifies us. Pampita is the “Will they be able to?” I tweet in her best expression and the unmistakable smile with which she receives NOTICIAS confirms it.
News: Instead of asking what characters from her inner circle we will see in this season of “Siendo Pampita” I would like to know the opposite. What happens when the camera is turned off?
Pampita: (laughs) Wow, that’s so much more fun! I tell you that every day something happens. With so many children we juggle with Rober to take one to school, or go out to buy at 10 at night the map that another needs to take the next day. It is also being behind to see if they studied, how their grades went, taking Anita often to the pediatrician… and we both work a lot, many hours a day.
News: Do you feel the pressure of being in all the daily details?
Pampita: It is that we want to be good parents, that is our goal in life.
News: And for you, what does it mean to be a good parent?
Pampita: Be present, instill values, place them also in the important things. We want them to have a notion of the moment that each one lives and that they enjoy it a lot. It is essential that they feel us, knowing that we are always by their side. And also give them a lot of elements they need to preserve their innocence, we take care of that a lot, we want them to be children, so they don’t miss this stage.
News: In her family there is a wide age range, from Anita who is a baby to the children of Roberto and Bautista who are teenagers. How do they make coexistence work?
Pampita: We go from 10 months to 17 years. The answer is this: We slept little (laughs), practically nothing, four or five hours and we had a lot of fun. We take it easy, no drama. If you have to get up or go look for them places, it is done. We decided these children, we brought them into the world very consciously and there is no room for complaint. On the contrary, it is what we always wanted, this blended family.
News: The previous season of “Siendo Pampita” ended with the birth of Ana and this one follows her first months. The puerperium is an arduous stage and you experienced it working on this reality show, on Showmatch, on her program Pampita Online. How was that experience?
Pampita: I returned to everything within a week of becoming a mother. I am really used to work and also, Ana is my fifth daughter. Perhaps in other postpartum periods I was more apprehensive or I stayed more at home, according to each child in reality, they were all different. With some I worked more quickly, with others not, in this case I had to do it and Anita accompanied me from day one.
News: Can you tell how it was organized? Throw us some #pampitips.
Pampita: Like any mother who has to work carrying her baby. So she was there next to me, because the truth is that I breastfeed on demand, I always have her hanging holding my tit, while I do my makeup or comb my hair. I don’t lose that contact of having her close until today when she is 10 months old and she is still with me all the time. I try to do both, raise her and get on with working life.
News: Let’s go back to breastfeeding on demand, it is a topic that today raises many conversations on networks. There are women who defend it at all costs and others who don’t. Did she practice it with all her children?
Pampita: Yes, I did the same with everyone until they were two years old. And I also consider it a gift for myself, because it is the perfect excuse to have our bubble. No matter what happens, whatever I’m doing, I have that moment of connection that is only ours. No matter what’s going on around us, we’re there together and I didn’t want to miss it. Everything else can wait, this is your time to be a baby and you have me one hundred percent available.
News: Social changes have greatly accelerated in recent years. What do you think the world will be like when Ana is a woman?
Pampita: For me, we evolve a lot, constantly, we have a more open mind, all diversities are welcome, there are fewer prejudices, everything is simpler and more natural. It seems to me that Anita arrives at a special moment for women where all of this is going to be socially imprinted. There is still a long way to go obviously, but luckily feminism prevailed and it is the only option, I think so.
News: When you started your career it was not easy to deal with certain situations when you were very young. What was it like becoming a figure in an entertainment industry that used to be a man thing?
Pampita: I think that over time we all changed, men and women. We think differently, we see issues differently, we even laugh at different things. It was a process that we all had to experience in the industry and we still have a long way to go.
News: You are famous for your smile, tell me what makes you laugh.
Pampita: I laugh at everything, even when I’m angry. Also when I’m happy, when funny things happen to me, even the bumps in life make me laugh. Laughing is a good attitude.
News: Are you one of those who laughs while screaming?
Pampita: I’m not so much a shouter, I’m one of those who uses sarcasm very well. A calm but sharp angry one, that’s the deadly combination! (laughs).
News: And what is she really like when she’s angry? In private I say…
Pampita: You’ve seen me a thousand times, you already know me! Because I tell you something, in private I am the same as in public.
News: This game between the public and the private leads me to ask about others. Is it true that your family, even in these times of raging technology, loves board games? What is your personal favourite?
Pampita: Yes, it is true and we have many! There is a cupboard full of games and we like to spend that time all together. I love one about movies, where you have to act and everyone brings out their histrionics, because at home there are several very histrionic children…
News: What is the boys’ favourite?
Pampita: There is a special one, we do a candy lottery. It is a kind of bingo and there is a well of goodies, whoever wins it has no obligation to share it, he can take it as his treasure. The boys love it, they always ask for it.
News: Since he likes movies and series. Do you have time to marathon? Do you recommend any title?
Pampita: Now I’m with “This Is Us”, I have the last two chapters left, all my friends have already finished it and since I worked a lot this week I still couldn’t. We are also seeing a very good one called “The Staircase”, I am watching the fiction series and the documentary at the same time on two different platforms. And I’m hooked on “Being Pampita, second season”, obviously! (Series)
News: If your life were a board game, what would it be?
Pampita: I think the lottery. And I took out the Gordo de Navidad.
