Carnival in Brabant: going outside and with a smile on your face

Brabant celebrates Carnival Saturday in the open air, with a beer in hand. After two years without our folk festival, we can celebrate carnival again as usual. Everyone is hoisted in a nice pekske and is walking with a smile on their face. View the photos of Carnival Saturday in Brabant here.

We are loose in Oeteldonk! The streets are full, people are elated. Finally people can hug each other again and stand close to each other.

For young and old
In Dommelbaorzedurp it is completely packed in the Kerkstraat for snack bar ‘t Geveltje. There’s no getting through. Children frolic around the edges of the street and some seek refuge a little further away.

Life is good in ‘t Pezerikkenland
A terrace, good food and a beer. What does a man want more? In Pezerikkenland they took it well. The official key transfer took place at the Kiosk and they hoisted the string.

Have a nice walk
In Krutjesgat they took a carnival-esque walk through the village on Saturday afternoon. Prince Menno kicked off, together with the local wind band Bloaskaken. During the route of about eleven kilometers it was also possible to eat and drink.

Car wash as carnival palace
For those who still wanted to make themselves useful on this sunny Saturday afternoon, ‘de Carnawash’ in Rijen was ready. The group of friends De Jokers transformed the car wash into a carnival palace. While wind band ‘De Valse Noot’ mainly made a lot of noise, visitors cleaned their cars and were treated to the necessary sjoem.
