The governing council of the University of Barcelona (UB) has approved granting the honorary doctorate to the cook Carmen Ruscalledathat it got seven stars Michelin and that it retains both of the Moments restaurant after the closure of the Sant Pau de Sant Pol de Mar and the Sant Pau de Tokio, as exclusively announced by the Cata Mayor channel.
Male colleagues have preceded her in academic recognition. In 2010, the University of Girona put the cap on joan rock while Ferran Adria It has been multiplied by three: by the UB (2007), by Aberdeen (Scotland, in 2008) and by the Politècnica de València (2010), shared with the pastry chef Paco Torreblancawho repeated the award with Quique Dacostathis time by the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (2013).
The UB has also agreed to recognize with this same honor the poet and essayist Pere Gimferrerto the Norwegian mathematician Kristian Seip and the australian teacher Belinda E. Medlyn.

The Governing Council of the UB has also agreed on the creation of the Observatori per a l’Acció i la Recerca en Alimentació to “promote academic and research activities in the field of food, from a systemic and interdisciplinary approach”.
