Carlos Alcaraz will not play either the Masters or the Davis Cup due to injury

The 2022 season of Carlos Alcaraz has reached its end point. The player, through a statement on social networks, has announced that he will be out for six weeks, so he will not be able to be in the ATP Finals in Turin or in the final phase of the Davis Cup to be played in Malaga.

The medical team that watches over Carlos Alcaraz carried out an exam yesterday to determine the extent of the injury that forced him to withdraw from the quarterfinal match at the Paris-Bercy Masters 1,000 against Holger Rune. During the first set that he lost, he began to notice some problems in his abdomen that prevented him from serving well. Doctor Juan José López Martínez and physical trainer Juan José Moreno were with the player yesterday, determining that he suffers from a muscle tear in the internal oblique musculature of the left lateral abdominal wall. Estimated recovery time is six weeks.
