Carlos Alcaraz and Oscar Otte am Rothenbaum

High-flyer Carlos Alcaraz from Spain and Oscar Otte from Cologne will be serving at the ATP tournament at Rothenbaum in Hamburg in July.

This was announced by the organizers of the Hamburg European Open (July 16th to 24th).

Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins (USA) leads the entry list for women. For the first time since 1978, women and men will be fighting for the title in Hamburg in the same tournament week.

The only 19-year-old Alcaraz will contest an ATP tournament in Germany for the first time, most recently the youngster had triumphed at the Masters tournaments in Miami and Madrid.

“I will try to leave my mark in the history of the Hamburg European Open – a tournament where Spanish players have always been very successful,” said Alcaraz.

Since the turn of the millennium alone, the title has gone to Spain five times through top star Rafael Nadal (2008 and 2015), Albert Portas (2001), Tommy Robredo (2006) and Pablo Carreno Busta (2021).
