Gerd Müller-Thomkins is handing over management of the Deutsches Mode-Institut DMI GmbH (DMI) after three decades. Carl Tillessen takes over for him.
Müller-Thomkins and Tillessen have shared the management of the Cologne trend institute for the last four years. Together they drove the internationalization and diversification of the company forward. Now Tillessen is alone at the top, the DMI announced on Thursday.
Müller-Thomkins’ career began 40 years ago at DMI’s predecessor, the German Institute for Men’s Fashion. He shaped the company through industry events, trend forecasts, press work and the promotion of digital change, according to the statement.
According to his own information on the LinkedIn career network, Tillessen has been in the DMI management since March 2021. The trend analyst has more than 25 years of experience in the consumer goods industry and has also worked as a consultant for various companies.
