The US clothing supplier Carhartt Inc. has launched its “Carhartt Reworked” resale service on a large scale following a successful test phase. Customers can now return used Carhartt products to 35 of the brand’s US stores, the company announced on Wednesday. In the course of the year, it will also be possible to send corresponding products by post. This will expand the offer to the entire United States, said Carhartt.
As part of the project, which has been piloted in six US stores since March, the company will take back used clothing items that meet certain criteria. Customers receive digital shopping vouchers for the products they have given away. In cooperation with the resale service provider Trove, the items are sorted, refurbished if necessary and finally offered for sale again in a separate area on the Carhartt online platform.
