This method consists of a coordinated strategy in which two people work together to distract the victim and steal their belongings. In a video shared by the Mossos on social networks, it is shown how one person inadvertently spits on anotherwhile an accomplice pretends to offer help to clean up the supposed “accident”. At that moment, a third individual take advantage of the confusion to seize the bag or backpack of the victim.
“Watch out for distractions of any kind that make you strangers on public transportation, on the street, or wherever. Keep your things under control at all times“, warn the Mossos on their Twitter account. Prevention and vigilance are essential to avoid becoming victims of robberies.
