Belgian Thierry Neuville has taken the lead at Rally Sweden. Although the Hyundai driver only won one of the first seven daily stages on ice and snow on Friday, he leads the field with a lead of 4.3 seconds over Kalle Rovanpera (Finland/Toyota).
“The car works perfectly,” said Neuville, who won in Sweden in 2018. Third is Welshman Elfyn Evans (Toyota). Twelve more tests are still on the program until Sunday.
Record world champion Sebastien Loeb (France) and his compatriot Sebastien Ogier will not be there in Umea. Both stars only start at selected races in the World Rally Championship.
