Car with four occupants breaks in two after hitting light pole

The accident happened just before 6 a.m. in the Natiënlaan in Damme. A car with four occupants is driving in the direction of Knokke, but goes off the road and catapulted into a lighting pole. The impact broke the car in two. One occupant did not survive the crash, a second had to be resuscitated on site and was taken away. The two others were seriously injured.

The exact circumstances of the accident are being investigated. The Damme/Knokke-Heist police had a traffic expert come to the scene to make the necessary determinations. There was also an eyewitness.
