Unknown people have let the air out of numerous car tires since Thursday. According to the police, labels with “environmental reference” were also attached to several vehicles. Among other things, it said “Fuck SUV” and “Traffic turnaround now!”. Another letter speaks of “Bonzenkarre”.
According to the police, almost 100 SUVs with flat tires have been reported so far. Affected districts: Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, Charlottenburg, Steglitz-Zehlendorf and Spandau.
“There were some victims who only noticed the damage during the day on Thursday,” said a police spokesman. Most of the cars were deflated and two had their tires punctured.

A tire dealer from southwest Berlin, who wishes to remain anonymous, speaks of three customers who were victims of the activists. “In one of them, the perpetrators put small peas in the valve caps and screwed them back on,” he says. “This is how the air escapes little by little, maybe even on the freeway. This is nothing more than an attempted assassination.”
The police are targeting two suspects. Both are 28 years old and are at large. The state security agency responsible for politically motivated crimes is investigating.
Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann (44, FDP) condemned the attacks: “Violence against people or things is unacceptable in the political debate,” he says to the BZ “Protection of property must be guaranteed by the security authorities.” No goal, however noble, justifies it to property damage.
