A motorist escaped unscathed this evening following an accident on the A28 near Ubbena. Around 10:30 p.m. the car left the road, overturned and came to a stop in the ditch.
No one was injured in the accident. It is not clear what caused the car to veer off the highway between Assen and Vries. The police are investigating that. Part of the highway was closed off.
A recovery company has been called in to tow the car out of the ditch.
