A passenger car ended up under a trailer on the A59 highway near Vlijmen on Friday afternoon. Two people in the car are still trapped inside. Rijkswaterstaat and the police report that the A59, near Nieuwkuijk, in the direction of the Zonzeel junction is closed for the time being due to the accident.
It is still unclear how the accident could have happened. Rescuers are on the scene en masse. An air ambulance has also landed. According to the police, the fire service is busy freeing the occupants from their car. The accident was reported around 5 a.m.

Traffic from Den Bosch to the Zonzeel junction is routed via the exit and access ramp. The ANWB advises to drive via Tilburg and to take the N65 and the A58. By two o’clock there was a traffic jam of 5 kilometers and the delay had risen to about 50 minutes.
