A car ended up on the side of the road on the A37 between Hoogeveen and Emmen this morning. One person was injured and taken to hospital by ambulance.
The accident happened during a heavy rain shower and the car probably left the road due to aquaplaning. The car then slid several meters down and ended up in the ditch along the highway.
The right lane in the direction of Emmen was temporarily closed due to the accident.
