A car crashed into a tree between Gieten and Rolde at the beginning of the afternoon. That happened around 12.10 pm on the Provincialeweg, near a cemetery.
The driver lost control of the car for an unknown reason, his car ended up on the side of the road and came to a halt against a tree. After being checked by ambulance personnel, the victim was taken to hospital.
The road was temporarily closed due to the accident.
