Car shoots off the road on the A1 near Deventer and flips over: traffic massively ignores red crosses | 112 news Deventer

A motorist flew out of the corner at Deventer tonight. Her car ended up upside down in the ditch. Miraculously, she was able to crawl out unscathed.

The accident happened just before half past nine on the exit of the A1 to Deventer. For unknown reasons, the car spun out of control and landed upside down on the side of the road. The victim was able to get out of the car on his own and did not need to be taken to the hospital.

However, due to the accident, the exit was closed for some time to traffic from Apeldoorn towards Hengelo. Not everyone seemed to agree. Dozens of drivers ignored the red crosses above the exit lane and exit and still drove past the accident. Only when a road inspector parked his car across the exit did the flow of cars stop and the recovery crews were able to do their job safely.

The exit is expected to reopen around 10:15 PM.
